We are bound by the common experience of our body and our movement.  Studying about our bodies and maintaining a movement practice has been an ongoing theme in my life that has developed into becoming a movement educator.

Anita Seiz

ANITA SEIZ comes from a background of dance in classical and contemporary styles. In June 2004 she graduated with distinction from Long Beach Dance Conditioning’s Advances in Pilates Technique training under Master Instructor, Marie-Jose Blom-Lawrence. This deeply added to her existing experience as a Pilates instructor and prompted further study under Eric Franklin.  In July 2005, she completed the Level 1 Franklin Method Certification, emphasizing postural and biomechanical imagery techniques.

Anita has most recently (December `08) received her certificate in Movement Analysis through the Laban Institute of Movement Studies (LIMS).  She is currently assisting & guest instructing on the Laban/Bartenieff and Somatic Studies Canada (LSSC) Vancouver program under the Direction of Janet Kaylo. The Laban program was and continues to be a transformative process that colors Anita’s life.  Pilates is the application through which she uses the Laban Movement Analysis framework to describe and expand movement potential.

In working with clients, Anita is facilitating an ongoing movement practice that activates pathways of dynamic connectivity to enable efficiency and cultivate more availability for expression. Enjoying and deriving pleasure from movement is a huge part of her approach – bringing curiosity and interest in the individual, combined with the history of her practice, experience and knowledge of movement principles to her role as a movement educator.

Anita is also very pleased to be on the board for DanceHouse.

I am on a continual journey of exploration of the workings of the human body. This journey has led me to GYROTONIC® methodology and GYROKINESIS® methodology. I hope to bring to my clients an appreciation of the potential of their lives through the medium of movement.
